How is the 'gold" on the frame applied and what is the name of the process, please?
Probably brass plating, using the normal electroplating technology. I think a brass with 90-95% copper comes out that colour. If I were looking for a gold coloured protective coating now, rather than in the olden days when that Colnago was made, I'd go for a PVD TiN coating as it is more corrosion and wear resistant than brass, although it might be hard to find a PVD shop with chambers big enough to take a frame.
