claus always seems fairly in control with his Deltas whenever I've ridden with him (including some frenetic descending).
yes they work fine. that is if you dont race with them in a close pack where everyone else runs modern dual pivots. for normal riding and even rainy mountain decents they have proven to work for me.
3.5mm alan key is available form clerkenwell screws. what really made the difference on my deltas was to replace the spacers that so the pads sit a tiny bit closer to the rim. the perfect spacer for that are the inside parts of campag chainring bolts. i also got new pads and shoes. you really dont want to run a dried-up 20 year compound of original brake pads.
