i have spoken to jono about this but think that not only bill are you right that every team should have a ref, but that the other two members should goal ref. Then you have a team communicating with each other and lessens the chances of mistakes, but means that if every team has to ref and it is distributed evenly, they will naturally select amongst themselves who takes line ref duty.

Exactly. Solves the 'who's going to goal ref?' question. I have asked the National Series committee to make it clear to all teams that they will be expected to do this.

It makes weekend single court & single day double court tournament so much easier - I think we could have got the Brighton tourney done before dark if I hadn't been drunk at the end, and we had fucked around less getting 3 refs on court for every game. If we wasted 1 minute on every changeover getting refs, we wasted 90 mins on Saturday.
