I had a go today. I didn't even get half way.

I think MTB, bottom gear and spinning like buggery is going to be the only way I'll get up there.

I got 3/4 of the way up doing this and then died.

I don't know what the fuss is about, I cruised up there on an old touring bike. So long as you don't slow down or stop then it's fine - if you do then you'll never get started again.

Can we organise our own on a Friday night? Would be lovely with the sun setting over the city. I can come along and get some snaps of you lot.

I don't believe you're even real. A year on these boards and I'm yet to meet you :)

Hooray!
So the 49 year old, unfit, home brew swigging, almost chain smoking, and sometimes miserable old git which is me can do something that you guys can't.
Every so often I pedal this combination up Gas Hill on my way home, albeit with an empty trailer; and I don't even change down to the granny cog.

Maths have determined I can do this.
48" is as low as the road bike goes and I think it's low enough.
I wouldn't do the gasp though, I've ridden with serious roadies and they are monsters. -

I Only meant to go and watch a bit. I have done it on a BMX before.

Walking!!
Not at the moment though my knees are ruined - no idea why. Off to the docs tonight.

I might have a go tonight. Anyone fancy meeting up on Saturday morning and doing some timed runs?!

Funnily enough I found a flyer for the Gasp in Pedal Rev at the weekend and got all excited - then realised it was 2010. Good to see there's one this year too.

Looking at it I think you'll need to be a club member to race - it's a proper British Cycling event...

I saw it in Specialised. It's being quite heavily promoted, suppose it's a bit different to the usual BC events that take place round here.

Gas hill is notoriously the steepest hill in Norwich. Well the gasp is a ride up and down it, which falls into a competition. It is on a Friday evening and starts at 7pm.
