Been waiting for the remastered version of MBV's Loveless to come out so I can have decent quality version, instead of mp3, but Shields seems to be taking even longer to remaster it than he did to record it. Might have to explore some of these other bands in this thread.
One band heavily influenced by MBV was Smashing Pumpkins, especially on Siamese Dream. Some quite enjoyable Shields type moments in that album (Hummer comes to mind).
