Instead of using a star fangled nut to hold all the headset etc in place this fangle is a top cap and a bolt which goes all the way through the steerer with a wedge which sits under the fork, that tightens the lot up instead.
I have more stuff under the stairs for retro mtb, just choosing a moment to rip it all out and see whats there. I think there may be a complete bike in bits.
