  • Hey folks.

So, I need a new bag. My current/old one was handmade for me by an ex some time ago, and it's coped well over the years, but it's basically reached the point where if I keep using it, it's going to go past the point of no return and end up useless / in the bin as trash. I'm a sentimental cnut, I like kittens and all that, so, before that happens, I thought i'd buy a new one.

PAC bags look good but expensive, and I'm poor. Chrome Metropolis bags seems a good combo of product/price/performance, but all the hipster kids love them and the old 'press the buckle release' joke gets old fast I imagine - anyone here actually use a metropolis for messengering, and does it live up to the hype? Same question with timbuk2 bags I guess.

I've seen that black rainbow project thing online for a while but are they ever actually going to start making bags? And will they be affordable?

The Chrome Berlin looks pretty brilliant but it's $220 I can't work out whether it's a sensible investment for a messenger, i.e. chrome's attempt at the best possible messenger bag they can make, or just a bit of hipster bling for the fixie skidders.

Reccomendations folks? What do you use, how does it hold up to working messengering, and how much did it cost? Overall I just need the thing to be tough as fk, to cope with being treated like st, skidded across tarmac, to carry children/dogs/ice and beer and general heavy shit and to not have to worry about the thing breaking or being really uncomfortable.

    Ta,

    Kips
