If you 'fixie skid' on a treadmill will you take off?

If you 'fixie skid' on a treadmill will you take off?
well due to the fact that the forward propulsion of the fixie is provided by a jet engine which produces forward thrust independently of the wheels, i'd say the fixie takes off

You fixed riders must be nuts. I don't miss that shit!
Especially Jason... he is nuts. I heard off Rob that he's doing a hilly 100 mile ride around Derbyshire soon. Up and down hills. NUTS
skidding = loss of control
what im trying to say it, by its very definition, skidding is losing control of your bicycle
?
Skidding is surely demonstrating absolute control?*

Yeah maybe. From a road safety point of view I would never recommend skidding. Plus why waste your tyres. I don't think there's any benefit to it. From a 'it's not my tyres being wasted' and an 'It's actually fun to skid until the novelty wears off' point of view I don't actually care that much, just thought I'd add a bit of controversy. Now, more importantly, where's my fork?

Have not tried to skid yet, have totally unweighted the rear wheel when braking though. Strange sensation for sure.
Done some longish rides now (well, longer then my 6-7.5 mile commute) did Harborne to Minworth Asda in 34 mins, then back up past fort and down spine road, 22 ish miles. not too bad, legs were tired at the end of it mind you. Have spun up to 29mph now down great charles street, gone round pump island, aston fire station island. lots of shitty roads basically. Feeling lots more confident on it.
Basically, love FG riding - is ace! If anyone ever wants to do a ride starting in or near Harborne, hit me up

I clicked on it thinking 'surely it can't be that bad, surely it can't be anywhere near as bad as being shown chechclear by surprise'. But I was wrong. It was worse. I think my life is ruined. -

+1 on the harborne ride!
Saturday or Sunday mornings are best for me, anyone fancy putting together a nice 15 mile route?
I find going up to selly oak and then bournville is quite an OK ride, apart from near sainsburys where the road is shot, and then loop back up to the Kings head in bearwood.

Yeah mate, 15 miles isn't too bad. i usually go to selly oak, then bristol road into town, past mail box loop up round the back of the NIA, then round 5 ways onto hagley road, up the the amber tavern, right down to barnes hill and then back to harborne high st via war lane.
Stressfull urban riding lol, but its a decent varied run with lots of hill and semi decent flat parts.
Would be up for it one weekend soon
