• My spd Nike's are awesome. That is all.

Have you got a photo? I'm keen to have a pop at converting some trainers myself. Was it easy?

  • Boom!

  • What's the verdict on the Kursks?

Great, been commuting on them for a week now. Soles are suprisingly stiff and overall the performance on the bike is great, especially if you do the laces up tight. The cleat recess is deep enough to make sure the cleat never hits the ground when walking. This does however make the shoe look a bit odd as the tread on the front of the shoe is quite thick. The quality of teh shoe is super tough, definately get the impression that they will last a long time. They have these nice think insoles as well which makes them pretty comfy. Little nice touches as well like a show lace garage (piece of elastic to took laces into) and a sutle reflective strip at the back. Very pleased with them to be honest.

has anyone tried these and what they think of them?

    .

  • So what are the best shoes for walking around in?

  • maximus, read the last couple of pages, and there is no best, just what you like the look of and can afford..

  • So what are the best shoes for walking around in?

The best shoes for cycling are uber stiff, with minimal tread.

The best shoes for walking are flexible and have a decent amount of tread to cover the cleat.

Somewhere inbetween these two extremes will be your ideal shoe. Its just a matter of working out what you want.

  • I bought a pair of Vans Warner SPDs as I'd read Vans had redesigned them last year. They're very stiff and comfortable as cycling shoes, and once they start to bed-in (and you remove the stupid velcro strap), they don't look as Variety Club as they do when they're new. I wouldn't say they're any more comfortable for walking in than any other SPD shoe.

  • QP with something different

  • Anti >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Anyone want to try out the 661 Filter's?
    http://www.lfgss.com/thread63508.html

  • I really like that QP, I usually wear those kind of shoes, so it's nice to have that option other than the trainer.

not sure if it'll be as comfortable as my Camper boots though.

  • any non-leather versions out there?

  • are you incapable of using google at all?

  • have and all I came across is the Kursch and as this forum is regarding posts of casual spd shoes I want to know if anyone came across any that they haven't posted, which I could have missed on google...

  • Dthomas, gonna quote aroogah from the time atac thread. Which is as relevant here as it is there..

Dude - stop obsessing and just pick one. Until you start to ride on them you won't have any sort of personal experience to draw on.

Besides your "umm-ing" and "aah-ing" is only delaying your riding in the nice weather. That's criminal.

Look at casual shoes, there aren't that many of them, they are pretty much all found in this thread, pick one, buy one, forget to unclip at lights and fall over in traffic until you get used to them as everyone does..
It's not rocket science or something that needs endless amounts of research on.

  • corny

thanks for translating my post and putting it in a more friendly manner

  • Sorry guys I'm just rather obsessive like that cause I don't want to go spending tonnes on money on something that may be crap. But that's the way in life to find out about things and learn your mistakes.
Anyway when they arrive I'll post a review to let other riders know what the products like.

Cheers everyone for the help and sorry for the ludicrous amount of posts!

  • all these pedals are hardly going to be crap, in fact you'd be happy with either of those pedals.

  • http://www.dzrshoes.com/ are rumoured to be bringing a non-leather shoe out this fall.

  • Bought the Kursk pros today really comfortable. Had to buy a size lower because the sizing is quite a bit bigger than normal.
Haven't had time to ride with them yet or clip in cause got loads of dissertation to do as I'm in my final year of uni and haven't had any time to cycle :( Will post go say how they are cycling. One of the nicest looking of the lot though I would say!

  • Can anybody track a pair of these down?
