If you're after Birmingham specific try Reynolds in Hall Green http://www.reynoldstechnology.biz/, they might have some stuff you can borrow or at least let you use some stuff from the image library
Try asking the Cov Transport Museum http://www.transport-museum.com/default.aspx (they have a pretty good cycle section). At the very least they may be able to point in the direction of some interested parties ?
