  • Is happening.

Opening Party 6th June We Are Birmingham shop...

Before this, I need more submissions; lots of photographs at the minute but different events would be nice, more drawing/painting/prints/sound/film/memorabilia please guys???

Brooks are on the blower to sponsor/contribute some great historical stuff but I would want more local stuff from cyclists! However, people outside of Birmingham are welcome to contribute too...

    Let me know your thoughts......

If you'd like to make something/have an idea but don't know how to go about it (don't mean to sound patronising) but I can try and help you.

    Cheers

    Jess
    Nimble

  • ive got loads of memorabillllaa.......stuff to donate/lend,will also give you a steel frame to show

  • i can knock out a few drawings, in fact it would be pretty cool to have something to work towards...

  • I know you want other items apart from photos but I've a chunk of photos over the last few years of BMX/MTB street and park all from local riders and spots if they're of any use?

  • This would all be amazing guys, if you can pm me some stuff or email pics to nimblebirmingham@gmail.com that would be great! All photos are good. Not alot of BMX/MTB stuff so would really appreciate it....

  • I have some on flickr (search glynr36) and some more recents I'll get up there tomorrow hopefully.
If you like I can mail you a selection of low res ones too see if they're of interest.

  • Nice dude, I recognise some of my old stomping grounds in that lot! Mail me some deets about yourself and the pics, etc. I'll check tomo too & put them in the submissions list.

  • ps. you out the nursery now :)

  • If you're after Birmingham specific try Reynolds in Hall Green http://www.reynoldstechnology.biz/, they might have some stuff you can borrow or at least let you use some stuff from the image library

Try asking the Cov Transport Museum http://www.transport-museum.com/default.aspx (they have a pretty good cycle section). At the very least they may be able to point in the direction of some interested parties ?

  • +1 to the transport museum, Steve Bagley is a good person to ask for.

Have you contacted Doug Pinkerton up at Halesowen?

  • Oh, also, aren't Dawes still up that way also? They might have some stuff.

  • Dawes are in castle bromwich now
Jess email me more details of the exhibition and I will put it out via the local cycling club mailing lists

  • Cheers guys, muchos helpful!!

I've heard horror stories about Pinkerton or he would have been my first port of call?

Will e-mail you as soon as I have something more official Perks.

  • horror stories? he's sound afaik.

  • Nice dude, I recognise some of my old stomping grounds in that lot! Mail me some deets about yourself and the pics, etc. I'll check tomo too & put them in the submissions list.

I'm not going to be able to get anything your way till the weekend if that's ok?
Got OU work to be doing tonight to free tomorrow to go CM!

  • No probs, I'm fairly tied up atm before starting work on this. Yessss CM!

  • I'll get a few of my mamiya photos enlarged if you fancy them.

  • I'm speaking for LJ here, but we'd gladly lend Birmingham's first polo trophy to the cause. You should insure it fot £500 though, I reckon.

  • On track to finish my few short cycling films in the next fortnight, will obviously keep you updated/informed as to when they're done.

  • Pm sent.

  • Cheers Fin, yes please...they're beeyootiful.

Asin the full on plastic badboy Dan? I've got some wicked B + W photos from the tourney actually which I need to scan in.

  • Can we put a picture of me crafting it Dan, Welding mask on and oil on my face...

  • Nice work...

On another note, as you guys know I have set up a collective called Nimble which promotes cyling mainly but also other sustainable transport and alternative arts. Thing is it's turned out to be more of a one woman mission instead of a collective. My mechanic has flaked every event/ride so far, my right hand man has disappeared to Japan and we only have two ride leaders atm so trying to schedule rides is a bit of a nightmare. BASiCALLY i'M LOOKiNG FOR VOLUNTEERS with the aim of getting you paid by the summer. I need another right hand man/woman...ideally two of us should always be on top of admin plus a whole host of people to do rides/polo/events, etc. ANYONE?

At the moment, as a Bikeability instructor I'm working four days a week. As a British Cycling ride leader I'll be doing at least one ride a fortnight. I am also qualified to do basic maintenance and will have my Cytech finished by the beginning of summer (fingers crossed). If you wish to do this stuff too, I can help you get trained up. I have a First Aid, Fire Warden, CRB, etc etc etc so you need not worry about any of these things for the time being. PLEASE GET IN TOUCH!

Website is a work in progress, any designers get in touch too!

  • Hi guys, we're just filling in the relevant documents from At The Ride In. Your feedback and thoughts are very important if you attended! Please get in touch before tomorrow with just a short line of what you thought/if you enjoyed it. It's REALLY useful in aiding us to get funding!! A PM/text/email whatever will do.....
