Hi,
Not sure this is the right place to post this but I am one of the organisers of the London Bicycle Music Festival and Bikefest due to happen in Regents Park on the 4-5th June. We were due to have so guys down to do a demonstration polo match but they have had to pull out due to other commitments.
Would anyone reading this be up for organising a scratch match at the Bikefest it could be either or both days 4 and 5th June. Great location on Chester Road in Regents Park. If so please PM me or e-mail bmflondon@gmail.com

They shot after time too, but they didn't know that, as you didn't call it!

so dr.Bad missed out on equal 2nd (not sure about GD) by one point..? Aah jono we would have drawn with degen if only you hadnt called that 'balljoint' as goal ref eh?
We're looking at +6 GD, you're on +3, it wouldn't have made a difference.
We also had a bad result against you on that Friday and would have rather played Iain and Ali in the day time.
At the end of the day it's all about 1st place, well played Cosmic. I'm also pleased that there are so many strong London teams heading to the Euros, this year's League has been perfect training for it I reckon (timing wise, etc).
Looking forward to next year's league... more games please!

ali would never have written that ^

Also, let's not forget the other part to that story - when they called ball joint I peeled off, and left B with the ball in front of goal while I went to block any passes. That goal may not have happened were the call not made, and if the call had been reversed I would have been pretty pissed off. So it's probably best to let it drop like all the other calls people disagree with that have happened in polo in every league, every tournament, and really in every sport.

such bullshit mark, you'd have to have 'peeled off' at light speed for it to make a difference, i shot through vidals bb and jon admitted later that it shouldnt have been called a balljoint.
funny how i've never seen you ref mark.

Well done COSMIC!
I had another fun league.
Dogma or megacreep finished middle of the middle, which is a lot better than our initial results would have indicated.. Had our first team practise yesterday; which was nice.
There are some lovely, happy teams whom we never met on the court, but there is always the endo of league party grudgematchspectacular and of course, Brighton. -

B, I can understand why you'd be upset, but seriously, it wasn't a cut and dry case of you being screwed over. I was coming up next to you on the left hand side when you had the ball and were pretty stationary (in fact, I think it was the stationary part that caused all the debate, but I'm not sure). Someone then called ball joint. I move to turn around to see if you were going to be able to drop the pass off to anyone. You shot. Rebound. Went up and collected the ball. Shot again. Went in.
Maybe you can know whether I would have been able to get in the way/pick up the loose ball. I can't. So if they did renege on the ball joint call I would have been pretty pissed.
I'm not sure what the ref comment is about or is relevant to.

i'm not upset, i was, but i'm not. I just thought it was funny that we were separated by 1 pt with SB.

Technically I admitted that if you were stationary when ball jointing then it was a bad call (league rules state you can ball joint when stationary, which I was unaware of, sorry).
I have no idea if you were stationary when the ball joint occurred, I imagine not... no-ones stationary in polo unless they're pinned to the wall/in a corner, etc.
Pretty irritating call I agree, I'd be especially pissed off that I then disallowed a Marc goal at the Euro Qualifiers... it's like I'm out to get you.
I'm not, promise. You guys will do well at the Euros (as long as I'm not reffing, etc).

it doesn't matter.
Oh, just checked, the Dinos - Los Conos game would almost certainly not change the standings if it was played, neither team can move up any place, Dinos could only move down if they are beaten with a +15 goal difference. So it's only really the NT-LS, and the two skids games which can change the table.
