  • You can trackstand a freewheel pretty easily if on a slope, facing upward, as you can then balance against the bikes desire to roll back.

    I learnt to trackstand on MTB's, and then you had to sort of bounce the bike off the front brake,if on the flat, if that makes sense?

    What he said, it is easy on a freewheel, if thats what you're used to, easy fixed, if that's what you're used to.

    I've managed quite a few minutes on my road bike, by doing what dammit describes above. I can also balance pretty much infinitely on fixed....

    Only thing I struggle with is gates practice on mtb/bmx... (because you have to keep your front wheel straight...)
