Super subs are currently allowed during qualification tournaments under the "2 of 3" rule... but at the main event you'd have to play with one team only, which kind of shoots yourself in the foot if your the team left without a player?

As Kiko plays in one of the Top5 European Teams (Euros and Worlds last year) and as he was definitely the strongest player on the team, it changed their result quite a lot. And they didn't even tell or ask someone else about that before the tournament...
!This is pretty clearly against the spirit, whether there is a a specific rule relating to qualifying tournaments or not. Playing for 2 different teams during a tournament is now not allowed, so clearly playing for 2 different teams during qualifying should not.

If I was a member of one of the German teams, I would be hopping mad, and be looking to make some sort of representation to the Euros organisers.

The exception (in my mind) is when you intend to play with your (potential awesome) third player, but they cannot attend the qualifying tournament, so instead you try and play with an equivalent third player temporarily (who plays with their own team at the actual event).
Although if you're that good at polo, then I guess you should scrape through qualification regardless and play with a (potentially awful) third?
Hopping mad degenerates:

Still 1 player playing for 2 teams. The question is: are the qualifying events part of the tournament? If they are, then this is not permitted.

No, that would require the EHBPC organiser to also organise the quali tournaments too and understand the local scenes/situations/etc.
The quali organisers could (in theory) stop people playing for two teams and could backup their stance by asking the EHBPC organiser directly if they agree with them, etc?

This incident makes it even more obvious to me that some sort of EHBPA is required.

we need a european body pronto.
Rakete will have been top 8 with or without Kico, so I dont think this situation is that bad. But we have to do something about it for future tournys

The rules say:
"No player can play in two different teams in the same event, unless his team has already been eliminated"
I don't know it the qualifiers belong to the main tournament, but if would make sense I think...
However, sad that Polo d'Oro got 9th. But they'll be in Barcelona anyways!
