Up for sale is my Peugeot 14-speed racer in Reynolds 531 Professional. This is the lightest version of 531 which is thinner gauge, and not very common. This is from the period before Peugeots had model name decals, and I believe it may be the PY10 model as seen here:
The Campag date code on the crank shows a "42" which I think is 1988. This bike is pretty light and fast. I've ridden it to 30MPH on the flat which is fairly respectable I think.
Frame is 55cm square (centre-to-centre), so I'd say it's most suitable for someone in the region of 5-9" to 6-1". I'm actually about 6-2" but find it fine.
Geometry is pretty tight; there is slight toe-overlap with my size-11 shoes. Pedals and toe-clips are not included. If you needed some, I migth be able to sell a pair of Lyotards for £5. We have five bikes in a tiny flat now, and I really need to make room.
Condition is fairly well used. All chainrings are good (new freewheel too), though chain could be replaced at some point. There is some corrosion, mainly on the down tube from where there have been paint chips; these have cause the paint to flake in places, but it's only surface corrosion. The fork has some pitting to the chrome. The headset lockring could do with being properly tightened as I don't currently have a headset spanner. The Rolls saddle has scuffs on the corners from leaning the bike againt the wall. The wheels are true enough for me, though you could tweak them if you wanted. They have typical brake-surface wear and scratches in places. The gears could probably do with being adjusted even though they are non-indexed, and it would probably benefit from new jockey wheels on the rear mech to keep it quieter when running them crossed-over.
