Wanted: 56cm Fixed/SS eg. Charge Plug/Fuji Classis Track

Hi everybody. I'm new here.

I'm looking for a decent entry level fixed/ss bike. I'm about 6'0" tall so, a 56cm would suit me.

Interested in Charge Plug, Fuji Classic Track etc. A good starter with customisation potential.

Any recommendations or suggestions would be appreciated.

Will consider options upto and around £250.

Based in N.London. Happy to collect in and around London.

Having read many of the threads on here, I'm leaning toward the Fuji Classic Track. Sounds like a solid starting point and I love the look.

I don't have one for sale, but the fuji is a nice choice. I bought a mine a couple of months ago, didn't expect too much as it was just going to be my bike for when I make deliveries in London, but it's great ride for the money. If you buy the stock setup you will replace the wheels, stem, bars etc....but the frame is sweet. Goodluck, hope you find one.

Hi, I am considering selling my Charge Plug Racer '09. Is a size L so 58 cm. I have bullhorn handlebars on it at the moment but have the drop ones too that I can chuck in.

Is in very good condition. Has a few light scratches on the surface of the frame, but very normal wear and tear from a couple of years normal riding to and from work. Has all original parts apart from the bars and the griptape, which is replaced with Specialized blue foam tape.

I'm based in Bristol. Would be looking for around £250

If you're buying a Charge bear in mind that they're big frames - the L is around 62cm I think, so the M may be better if you're 6 foot. I'm very happy with mine, it's heavy but it's a nice solid ride. Stock tyres, pedals and freewheel are pretty poor but I think that's standard with otp's in this price-range. Like you I was looking to buy something second-hand but couldn't resist the lure of a shiny brand new bike.

Yea. I've stood over one for fit and I'd definitely take the M size. Haven't ridden in years so I doubt I'll be able to discern between good and bad componentry until I have more experience. Plus, I like the idea of something I can upgrade as I go. Logic says a beater is the best place to start but a box fresh new ride is hard to resist. especially as wiggle are still doing 2010's for £299! 2011's are £599 and they're no different from last years model!

Considered a Langster? Thinking of moving mine on. 58cm aluminium frame, I'm 5'10" and it's the right size for me (sloping top tube)

Could probably do with a good clean as I've been commuting on it but it's a very solid place to start.

From what I gather, langsters are a decent starting point but, it's that top tube that puts me off tbh. I like the square/horizontal look. More pleasing to my eye. Thanks, though

yea, i've seen those. I prefer the look but they're even heavier than the charge plug, arent' they?

Think the plug is heavier, Charges tend to be big boned.
Evans by St Pauls have one in store if you're near the city, it's tempted me a few times
