He is superb in Donnie Brasco. Got the book by the real-life agent, superb read.

De Niro seems to have done more novelty wtf roles
-
• #2735
aye but a solid body of good work before the lame stuff

Pacino seems more dangerous, and authentic; cf. Scarface and Carlito's Way.
Not knocking Bobbie though.

Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi is worth reading - whole sections of which they lifted wholesale for dialogue in Goodfellas

seems interspersed to me, you suggest he 'went shit' which Im not sure he did.
but of course Bananarama should have the last word. -

I'm absolutely in love with De Niro. I'd never say no. It's a tough call professionally though. Stuff like Awakenings swings it for me....but yeah there have been some wtf films!

is that Jean Luc Godard A Bout de Souffle 'Breathless'? J. Where is that? Lucky bugger
Absolutely amazing film. They were showing it for a while at the Curzon on Shaftesbury Ave to coincide with the 50 anniversary of its release I guess.
Went to see Farewell at the weekend with Emir Kusturica in it, he was great, the guy who played Reagan tried his best to ruin it. Ate all my popcorn before the trailers finished - 7/10

I'm not sure if this technically counts as a film but last night I saw a feature length documentary called "Guerrilla - The Taking of Patty Hearst" and I thought it was fantastic. It's interesting to see how young American's were so disheartened with the political system in the 70's, the media circus that surrounds the kidnapping and Patty's response during and after the event. After watching it and reading in to the situation a little more I'm not 100% certain I believe her version of the story...

That looks great. Have you seen 'Forgotten Irish'? My mum loves that shit, anything that highlights the Irish as a minority group still!
