Hi Bruno - will you be promoting this and any other events through VCC News and Views?

May not be able to make the 10th, but would like to join the group and get involved - BTW will you be on the VCC Post-Smithfield Nocturne London ride? - should be a good one.

Hi Alan, yes this will be in the News 'n Views. I will be at the Nocturne on the Saturday, not sure what I
can arrange for the Sunday ride, work calls on the Sunday.

Hey Neil, The club changed it's name in '87. You're a proper Old Boy. The Smithfield Nocturne is having a Penny race this year, you should try to get to that one.

I hope people from this forum in general are planning on getting involved, even those who just like old bikes, not just the lucky ones who 'run' them.

I for one don't really have a proper old bike (despite what some of you may think): I don't have one with 'proper' components, and I don't have one that I haven't ruined by repainting.

There's a wish list in my head of people who should be there. I hope some will turn up. Including me, I'm starting a new job tomorrow, not sure what the workload's going to be like, nor whether I can bring a beautiful bicycle to work...

Also: Bruno you should get this thread title edited to include the acronym 'VCC'. I think you have to ask Velocio or Hippy to do it - unless the advanced options in editing the OP will change it.

I really want to be there but am on duty.....I can't get any time off either.

My Hetchins is undergoing a bit of a transformation at the moment, and even though some on here don't like my wheels, they are staying! I'll put a picture up later in the current projects when I have finished the cabling......I hope to have a new saddle on there too, soon!!

I've had a long term interest in the V-CC and it was my enthusiam for old bikes that brought me back into club cycling. Now that my competitive career (such as it was ) seems to be on the wane, my old bike enthusiasm is coming back into focus.

I'm more interested in riding old machines, rather than collecting and restoring. My thread in the Rides and Races section 'The Century Competiton of 1911' (currently near the bottom of page 2.) may give you an idea of my approach to veteran cycling.

What does everyone think about the Mercian Malrees is offering!? Beautiful!

Saw that last night after it was posted and thought about 20 minutes before coming to the realization that the missus would kill me and I would have to sell the current Mercian to make room in the stable. Hopefully he will bring it on the Mercian ride. It should defo make the trip up there.

VCC meeting at LMNH Tuesday evening. Be there from about 5pm, watching the highlights from the day's Tour. With hopefully a showing of the Penny Race at the Nocturne in June
