My personal advice Mark,
Don't bother. If you have a nice bike for 20 years and pay considerable amount each year on insurance, who makes more money, the insurance company or the bike thief? As you have already mentioned, they will do anything not to pay out but gladly take your money...
Complete waste of money in my opinion. Fraud!
