Bawlin' back to Bournemouth

  • Guys.

Headin back home for 2 weeks over Easter. Intention: to train as hard as I can and enjoy the beautiful riding, open roads, Purbecks hills etc.

I'm going to be training everyday, so if anyone around wants to come riding we should sort some sessions out.

  • I'm already here, heading back to the smoke Thursday evening. Bet you that doesn't line up.

  • You should factor in a couple of rest days Pigsy.
They'll let you smash yourself a little more afterwards.
    Mmmm... self harm... mmmm

  • Ha.

No 6pt, Back Wed eve, Maybe a Thu morn, but Gotta wash my (get it washed lol) before I'm riding, it's all hermetically sealed so I can't smell it in the car tomorrow!

What time you heading back Thu?

Hippy. What you reckon, 1 day off a week? or just have a couple of slow paced days? Planning on chucking in centuries every 3 days as the proper distance fitness hasn't been worked on yet.

  • What are you planning? I'll have sold my road bike by then, so it's fixed only for me. 65", so still suitable for rolling over the Purbecks.

  • ^need to get in touch with you about picking it up, dude. you still where you where when I collected those cranks?

^^thurs morning/afternoon would work. I'm going home for the Good Friday track meet so we're doing the family Easter on Thurs evening. As you do. Would prefer a comfortable century so I'm fresh for Friday.

65" will get you over most (would be impressed if you can manage Kingston on that) hills. I'm happy for anything really. got a few rides planned out but want to keep spinning on the other days. Will be out with Bournemouth Jubilee for the Sunday rides, not sure if they are still doing Sat morns or if the season has packed them all up.

Thu for a century (comfy) would be fantastic. How early a start do you want mate?

Aye, my number now works as I have retrieved the SIM. Gimme a text or something?

Yeah, Kingston is OK and the hills at Steeple and Tynham on the way to/from Lulworth cove are also manageable. If you have idea for rides, I'd be up for them, but there's no way I can do a century fixed at the moment, so will have to drop off at some point.

Your legs and mood will let you know.
I generally have a day off a week but sometimes will ride through but make it a very easy day. Also at the moment tend to alternate heavier and lighter days (or longer and shorter days). Depends what you're aiming for. Too much at once and you'll run yourself down and get sick and then have to recover from that plus the riding.

  • Am going out over the purbecks tomorrow while missus watches Tele. Heading out from ashley cross about 10 for 5 - 6 hours with ice cream in lulworth.
Bout 80 - 90 miles. Will be fixed

    Any takers?

  • Earlier start to get back around 2.

8am from ashley cross or studland ferry at about 8.20ish

  • Might be up for that...Will update later.

  • Although, I don't want to miss the wedding...

  • Tough day in the hills, time for cuppa and sleep
