Well fuck me that was RAD, SICK, AND AWESOME.
Well done to everyone who braved the burn and strapped in, this shit is tougher than it looks.
Massive shouts to Simple for a stellar performance ( you were shaking! ) and also my Mrs who came 3rd - Shes ranking higher than me!
Even bigger shouts to Barry - I never knew you were THAT quick, my big talk earlier that day had me red faced! To Marcus looking resplendant in Saxobank bibs - You're a serious cat and you very nearly took it.
MONSTROUS SHOUTS TO TOM, WHAT AN ABSOLUTE FUCKING BEAST - IN DICKIES PANTS AND SKATED VANS - SNM.

Thanks for all the support guys, I only did a qual time because Zouo reasoned me into it Along the lines of 'there arn't any other girls so you just need a qual time to win a prize..I'll race you''
The ride home from Coventry train station (4 miles) very very nearly made me sick, the combination of buggered legs, desperate hunger and a slight typsy wobble were not good.
thanks for all the cheering on! I've got no idea what anyone was saying but it was good back ground noise / atmosphere.
I'm off to find the yellow pages and look for a really butch masseuse to beat the shit out of my legs...the pain!
forgot to say a huge thank you to the Rollapaluza guys (and girl) for sortin this out and to Sprocket cycles for my 'pimp your BSA' voucher.

Well done Tom and Sarah - either/both of you going down to that London tomorrow?
Nooo I'm off to get pissed in a welsh field and fall off my MTB on welsh slate and (probably) really hurt myself...if my legs are upto it.

Yeah Gav, you should have raced me haha :)
Thought you were much faster than me?

What a great night. Thanks for everyone for taking part especially the ladies who had originally only come to watch. (Some had only just started riding again!) Good crowd, good times.
Props to Tom shredding it hard and getting the fastest men's time birmingham has seen.
Props to Sarah, full of adrenaline, I think you've got fastest recorded ladies time for birmingham too.
Thanks to ade from sprocket cycles for being so generous.National Rollapaluza Finals

The worst part is about 15 seconds in. I feel like I've given all I've got at that point and my legs are begging me "slow down and get in a harder gear!". You feel you could put more work in if you could just gear up and push through with brute force, but sadly for you, you must keep breathing deeply and concentrate on spinning as smooth and quickly as possible... easier said than done. You could be the fastest rider in the street or the world road racing champion and still suck at this brutal 500m test...

Wicked to meet you guys last night.. it was great fun and Tom and Simple were the epitome of Rollapaluza, that's what we like to see....! Some good times from a good few other people too and it was good to see that most of the people who came had a go. It was a shame that more non-fixie Midlands riders didn't come down but I think they just didn't want to be embarrassed by you dudes.. ;)
As usual there was a great vibe and it was so nice talking to people in person.. thanks to the Rainbow for being easy going and accommodating when they had no real idea what we wanted to use their venue for.. and thanks to Ade from Sprocket Cycles for getting involved - oh and Emma from Sprocket for being a sport and helping get a women's competition underway!
Thanks to everyone who came, hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Ha - now I know how old (or lack of old) everyone is!
Nice photos - the first one of fin is so tragic, looks like he's going to cry. The first one of shamim looks like he just chundered.
Gordon looks like Cadel, only a bit harder.
