andyp: good call, that's the first thing I did when I woke up this morning. I'll never make the same mistake again.
Plastic: That's what I'm worried about, I asked the doctor when I could get back on the bike, he said not to count on it anytime soon.
I just called the police & said I was going to try & get the CCTV & they told me to relax & get better, it was their job & they have good chance of getting something as it's in The City what with terrorist threats and traffic cameras.

Good news signor, but chase the cops hard for the footage. It's not that they don't care but simply that your incident is No. 232 on their 'to do' list. Make a fuss (without being an arse) and they'll bump you up their list of priorities. It's better if you can find one PC dealing with your case so you have one point of contact for simplicity and continuity. Good luck.

shit. sorry to hear that.
always wise to take at least the license reg if possible. and if you speak to witnesses, to get contact details. i've learned that much from the forum, thankfully not from experience -

Leave the police to get the CCTV footage and you will never see it.
Guaranteed.
Ignore them, they have no legal powers to prevent you gathering evidence.

+1
Get the footage yourself or it will, eventually, be erased.

Have you been able to make any progress, signor?
What are your injuries?
Don't beat yourself up over not 'doing the right thing'. It's not exactly intuitive, and lots of people make the same mistake. Concentrate on getting better first and secondly on getting the footage to pursue it.
And of course a bump in case a witness sees this.
Good luck.

I've been in contact with the City of London & put in a request for the CCTV footage...everybody was right about the police, when they came & visited they weren't so interested as the officer I spoke to on the phone...I'll be glad when the bank holiday is over so I can get things moving faster.
I got hit on the leftside & fell on my right, so everything on the right is bruised & swollen but it's my pelvis hitting the top tube that has taken the worse hit & it's effecting my spine.
The hospital I went to was crap, when my aunt had a stroke & the ambulance crew refused to take her there saying it was way below standard. Their idea of testing what was wrong was could I lift my leg & lecturing me about not wearing a helmet, that was it.
I went to a walk in clinic before I was sent to the hospital, an ambulance driver checked me over because they were under-staffed for the bank holiday, she pointed out all kinds of swelling & made recommendations but they didn't pay any attention to her notes...I actually had to ask them if they had even bothered to read them.
I have private health care through work thank goodness, so I'm going to get full tests done tomorrow as my neck & lower back is now killing.

Sorry to hear that. A fricking Toyota people carrier almost hit me in Stepney today. Waiting at the lights in line with it and he didn't check his left mirror as he moved off and turned left straight into me. I screamed out and he hit the brakes. Idiots like these should go to jail for careless driving.

lol
I got hit by a car yesterday just at the corner of Aldgate High Street around 6:15 - 6:30pm & didn't take any details.
A mini cab driver was lost & and looking at a map in his lap while driving towards me, didn't here my multiple shouts to stop & ploughed into me.
I thought I was just a bit cut & bruised & put it down to London riding but once the adrenaline wore off I realised I was actually hurt & I'm now on crutches & needing to see a physio.
There were lots of witnesses riding by, some came over to say the driver was out of order & I'm kinda hoping somebody on here may have seen it....I know that's a big wish but you never know.
