That's quite a heartwarming post.
Surprised the council got in touch.
I never thought people told the council in advance with ghost bikes, I thought people just put them up and the council just left them alone. Obviously not.

We didn't tell the council to start with but they contacted us because of the Junction redesign.

Yehuda would approx of that!
Nice to know people look after the ghost bikes and the council also respects them.

At the risk of it being a silly question, how did the council know who to contact?

how are they redesigning the junction? will it be any less lethal?

I guess they either asked the police or Googled Dan's name as it's on the plaque. They contacted his Mum and she contacted us.

I'm really quite impressed that they made the effort, well done, that council.
Hello.
Just in case any one wonders, we moved Dan's Ghost bike last night from Dalston Junction. It's now temporarily across the road while the council redesign the junction.
The council got in touch with his Mum and they've been pretty good about it. We're going to put it back in the right place once the work has been completed.
The bike had about 9 locks on and we only had 5 keys. Was interesting to see how long it took to saw through different types of lock. We got asked if we were stealing it by one guy and another lady asked what we were doing. Nice for people to be concerned!
