Wanted: Nitto Noodle Bars

Posted on
  • I'm after a Nitto Noodle Bar or similar shaped bar in reasonable condition.

    Pick up in London preferred.

    Thanks

  • Now sorted thanks to a fourm member.

  • Ok then I'll step in and bump the thread bc I'd like to try some.

I'm not bothered about condition, provided they're safe to use and haven't been cut significantly.

  • I'm dredging this up, since I'm also looking for a Nitto Noodle handlebar to go on the touring bike I'm assembling to ride to my grandparents, who live in the south of France, in summer.. I know I can get them brand spanking new at Hubjub for 33 guineas, but I'm a cheap arse (Dutch) so would prefer used.. I am also ín the Netherlands, so seller must be willing to post..:) I'm looking specifically for the 40 cm c-c variant; I like my bars to be small.. Cheers my fellow forummen and women, thanks in advance!

  • I've seen noodles go on here used once/ and found too narrow (nitto sizing confusing people) for £30-35+ postage, so I doubt you'll see them for much less.
Also people tend to buy them, and then keep them until they die/ have an accident as they are just so damn nice.
I'm also after some for cheaps, 44cm (in nitto sizing) :D

  • got mine here for £25. 40cm seams to defeat the purpose for comfort. I would go for at least nitto 42cm on a tourer. the narrow bars will be uncomfortable on long rides.

  • Tokyo Fixed sells them for £38. I think that's how much I paid. And yes, they are damn nice to use, no more pain on my dodgy right hand.

  • ^^ Cheers, but the thing that got me thinking I want a 40 c-c is that now have one that came on my race bike which is 40 c-c.. With my other bike and bars of 42 c-c I twisted my wrists in when riding on the drops.. That's not right right? I contemplated getting a wider one (I was offered 42 c-c's), because I know people tend to go for wider bars on tourers, but the earlier mentioned twisting put me off of that.. Or should I indeed go for those wider ones?

  • I don't think it's necessary to do with how wide the bars are, it's more the shape. The noodle bars have a curve shape on the top, which is where I spend most on my time holding and does fit my hands pretty well, I have heard a few people saying the same, and where it begins to drop right at the end of the top (more like an L shape) rather a curve drop that begins closer to the centre which does force your wrist in not the most natual positon. At the end of the day, numbers are only numbers, they don't really mean a lot.

  • +1 what extra said
I ride cinelli criteriums 40 cm and giro d'italia 40cm and the noodle bar in 42. they fit great. if the noodle was 40 i think it wouldnt fit so nice.

  • Okay, I'm persuaded.. I ride Giro d'Italia's in 40 cm.. Thanks guys!

  • FML, the earlier offered bars got used for a build just effin' yesterday.. So, anyone, a Nitto Noodle bar in the 42 cm variant? Hubjub doesn't stock those.. Cheers!
