I wasn't expecting to see a bike that looked like it was made by GT!
Perhaps it's made by frame building giant ASTRO. Gazelle had a lot of frames from that company. See also Gazelle "Next" MTB range 1996. If I remember well, it was done by Astro/Gazelle a lot earlier.
The 1st Gazelle MTB frame with that triple triangle design had even a top tube that was falling off to the front! Think it was the 1st genereation Skyhawk. -

I think i saw a gazelle earlier in this thread with similar deatailing, but my Batavus Pro frame has Kroone Liefting decals on the top tube near the head tube.
I gather that KL are a bike shop, but does anyone know whether the decals on the frame mean the bike was sold there, or sponsored as a race bike?
ta!

Kroone Liefting was (or still is perhaps) a quite large bike shop and had both Batavus and Gazelle. Possibly loads of other brands, too.
They were a typical Batavus shop. Very Batavus minded.
They also bought large quantities (regular orders, but also dead stock, inventory of bankrupt dealers, previous team bikes) at special occasions. I think Batavus, and maybe others as well used, KL as a kind of outlet. The sticker on the frame is very commin in The Netherlands. 99.9% of the dealers does that, if not 100%.
They do it with bikes they sell in a normal way, but also bikes that are used by sponsored teams.
It also common that, in case a racing club or team makes a deal with a bike brand, that the deal goes via an IBD or LBS.
Convenient for the delivery, assembly, and other dealers cannot complain that the factory delivers bikes directly to racers or teams without interference of anofficial dealer.
So, basically, yours can by anything.
Post your bike. Maybe the model and colours clear something up. -

I don't think that this has been a team bike.
Pretty sure that it would have had double set of bottle cage holders then.Looks like it's not the original front fork (531C vs. 531SL).
I don't think that they would have used 531 SL for a 64cm team frame. But this colour scheme used to be the one of the Batavus factory team for a coupe of years. However, Kroone Liefting had nothing to do with the factory team.

Nice track bike for sale
-

Shame about the price. Gazelle track bikes seem to include the massive hipster tax these days.
-
• #860
550 is very reasonable.
I guess that Sape hasn't seen this yet ;-)I'm pretty sure that it will go for more than this... That is a shame.

he will start bidding at €700,- :D

Dayum. Hipster tax indeed.

Has anyone noticed that the price of Gazelle bikes and frames on ebay has increased very significantly lately?

I guess finally they're starting to understand that these are great quality bikes, ranking right up with the Italian hotshots

Well, can we keep it down a bit? Mine needs a friend, perhaps a track bike and postage to Australia is scary enough. : )

Hi, I have a Gazelle Track bike that I am going to sell (I will list it on this forum) but It needs a new rear wheel and headset. Would it be worth me replacing these before selling it to maximize it's value, or would it be hard to get this extra cash back?
-

1st DIBs !
Sell it as it is or, better, split it completely.
You'll get more money for the frame set and the separate parts than for the whole bike. No need to replace something. -
• #869
what size ?
second dibs
-
• #870
It is 57cm c-c (I will double check - that might be c-t). It is a Champion Mondial, has been re-sprayed so I'm not sure what tubing. I will clean it up and post some pics/details over the weekend. Dibs noted!

My tyre problem returned yesterday. I take the AA Special out for a weekly 40 km sprint on a quiet country road. I've had Schwalbe Milano tubulars on the Mavic Monthlery Pro rims since January. Puncture!!
So, Gazelle lovers, what do I do? The wheels were trued and the hubs repacked. They are terrific.
New rims? HTFU and learn to repair tubulars? Any magic solutions?

Recently finished my new Champion Mondial track frame. Runs super smooth, I love it!
That is lovely but enormous! What size frame and how tall are you?!

Hi!
I'm new and I spent the whole evening reading this thread. Lots of awesome info to digest.Wanted to show of my new baby- a Champion Mondian Semi-race, purchased from a neighbor two blocks down. He had it sitting in the front yard with a "te koop" sign. I paid 75 euros. Put on two new tires and tubes and bought a Brooks for her. Suntour group is all original and works smoothly. Paint job has a lot of wear- looking to do minor touch up.
After cleaning her up, she's been awesome. New Brooks still isn't broke in yet.. just another 400 some kilometers to go lol.
Enjoy
No, it's the asking price of a bike shop, so that's always too high.
IMHO also EUR 400 is too much for such a bike. I can't get a good picture of that bike (gruppo, others), but I guess that EUR 500 is very steep.
Make a cheeky offer if you like it. For sure the seller will let the price go down.
Nice combination: a dealer of race bikes an lawn mowers... ;-)
I may even know the guy. Could be Michel Kruiper, an ex-MTBdownhiller.
