Clearly the rambler is the dogs, but it's way expensive.
I'm liking the Timbik2 Hemlock but cant see any in the uk. Or the Chrome Pawn. -

haven't seen those. might check them out. thanks.

How about the REload flight pack? Or Bailey Works Citizen? I keep getting close to buying a backpack for cycling but haven't quite pulled the trigger. I like both of these as well as the Rambler.

For anybody interested in a less 'messenger' style backpack, you should check Lemolo baggage. Eli has been making a lot of changes lately and his new stuff is coming along nicely.

Nice - bit like a Carradice for your back :)
-
• #1057
I just bought a carradice, can't wait to have the bag off my back!
But for when I need a bag, I'm thinking the mission workshop still has the edge. That expandable section makes it a winner. -

I wasnt sure where else to put this but does anyone know of someone who can make and attach an extra strap to my bag for me?
I have the chrome metropolis but would like to add an extra strap like the x strap on the pac bagsIts just to give myself more support on my back and take all the weight off one shoulder and spread it onto both.

aufbruch (James) has a sewing machine, no idea if he'll want to do it or not but it's worth PMing him.

There's a sewing thread (boom boom) somewhere...
EDIT: here
http://www.lfgss.com/thread35064-4.htmlEdit my Edit: might be tricky as you'll either need to unpick the seam to put the strap in, or sew it on the back or side, which will be awkward and affect the waterproofness.

Anyone got already a BRP messenger bag? Any comments most welcome!

rascale has one, as does a few others, if you have £340 to spend on a bag there is literally nowhere better to spend it.

got the money to spend and torn between a few choices
not messengering but need something for regular large and/or heavy loads, commuting, weekend trips, laptop etc
looking at PAC street (large), PAC deluxe, Incase messenger (http://www.goincase.com/products/detail/messenger-bag-cl55209) impossible to find in this country and would have to proxy it, +1 to anyone who can track me one down :P
bagaboo workhorse, seagull, reload civilian, belk large tech sling
would rather something sooner than later, is it worth waiting for a custom bagaboo workhorse as opposed to getting an off the shelf PAC at BLB?
not fussed about price, and just looking for something all black -

Belk should be able to sort you out reasonably promptly (they might have a few instock at PUSH too). Shoot them an email and I'm sure they'll be able to tell you lead times.

I also second the buy local theme, so try BELK, or LEVRIER. But really, there are so many to choose from. -

I just bought yesterday the Mission workshop Shed. I have very few experience with other stuff, except Crumpler Messenger Postman. The shed is roomier, and very well designed. I just hesitated with Chrome, for the opening buckle convenience. I resolved this by putting an opening quick release buckle at the end of the main strap. Now it has all!

Hey folks.
So, I need a new bag. My current/old one was handmade for me by an ex some time ago, and it's coped well over the years, but it's basically reached the point where if I keep using it, it's going to go past the point of no return and end up useless / in the bin as trash. I'm a sentimental cnut, I like kittens and all that, so, before that happens, I thought i'd buy a new one.
PAC bags look good but expensive, and I'm poor. Chrome Metropolis bags seems a good combo of product/price/performance, but all the hipster kids love them and the old 'press the buckle release' joke gets old fast I imagine - anyone here actually use a metropolis for messengering, and does it live up to the hype? Same question with timbuk2 bags I guess.
I've seen that black rainbow project thing online for a while but are they ever actually going to start making bags? And will they be affordable?
The Chrome Berlin looks pretty brilliant but it's $220 I can't work out whether it's a sensible investment for a messenger, i.e. chrome's attempt at the best possible messenger bag they can make, or just a bit of hipster bling for the fixie skidders.
Reccomendations folks? What do you use, how does it hold up to working messengering, and how much did it cost? Overall I just need the thing to be tough as fk, to cope with being treated like st, skidded across tarmac, to carry children/dogs/ice and beer and general heavy shit and to not have to worry about the thing breaking or being really uncomfortable.
Ta,
Kips

In the upper right hand corner is the search bar. Put in the term "bags" and you'll see all of the previous discussions. There's even a list of makers to get you started.
I think I want a MW Rambler or Bagaboo... can't decide. What have you been looking at Wicksie?
