  • That is sweet!

  • I'd love to enter it but that would be unfair- 'twas the Mrs who took the photo, with her phone.

I'll recommend that she enters it.

  • Please do. Your missus has a good eye.

  • Woo hoo; thank you! They're very mesmerising. Push children out of the way for a better view mesmerising.

    Joking. grins

  • ^Higgs when she was new, iPhone 3G, and an alternate Moon Jelly picture:

  • Phone details?

  • sorry! taken on a Galaxy S with FX Camera

does anyone know of a program which allows you to take widescreen shots? I think it's a waste losing the edges

  • Jellyfish pic is cool.

Been playing with HTC Desire HD Vignette Demo app (on random) this weekend, below are some results (the first is a pic of a photo on a wall in a pub, on normal HTC Desire HD)

I only just discovered today that a pic can be taken, then the effect applied and adjusted afterwards... had been shooting on random and discarding the dodgy crops / effects until then - lotsofwastedpics fail.

do you mean panoramic kinda pics? as in having two pics, and 'stitched' up together?

  • From a trip to Rome/Ostia last November. iPhone 3gs, hipstamatic and/or camerabag apps.

  • do you mean panoramic kinda pics? as in having two pics, and 'stitched' up together?

no, I mean when you are using the screen as a viewfinder, it uses the full screen, but when you take a picture you lose the sides because it becomes 4:3 or something

  • ^ is that not in your settings menu? is on HTC.

    ^^ nice Rome pics.

  • Not sure what kind of animal this is, was around 10cm in length I'd say, anyone have an idea? In Siberia near Tyumen.

    HT desire HD

  • wolf

  • Yep, that sounds about right, just google'd for comparison and it seems about right. It was on the side of a road next to a forest (which we explored a little) pretty cool if a little worrying!

  • Just got a samsung GT 155000 which has a panorama setting which is amazing.
Took these in Kent last week:

    and more here

  • Bernhard, please enter that in the "Competition". Its unusual, but even though its a picture of the ground, it clearly screams FAUNA, .....which is this month's category.

Go on, you know its makes sense.

  • skydancer, thats pretty amazing. Seriously.

  • GA2G, I already have a pic of bird footprints in the snow for the competition but I might swap it out for this one as a wolf paw print is also pretty cool, loving this phone for taking pics tho, seems pretty easy to get good results!

some more I have taken with this phone.

  • Thanks GA2G. The landscape in Thanet really lends itself to panoramic photos as its flat with wide open landscapes. Got the feeling of middle American landscape.

here is another that I particularly like:

  • skydancer those 3 are all amazing, really like.

  • I like them, too. They look like paintings.

  • glad you like them guys.

This one is of the Pegwell bay hotel in ramsgate where we stayed. The 'stitching' of the images is slightly out which I like. A friend described this photo as the Norman Bates motel on mescaline.

  • I like them, too. They look like paintings.

Indeed they do - are they supposed to look like that, just using the panoramic setting, or did you do something else to them to get that effect?
