Tbh..one track mind atm..and that involves our goals. Everyone was good enough to chip in etc so thats my main priority at the mo, must keep focus!
Leaving this to you lot..bases coming home to be stored at my batcave tomorrow.

No time to do stats tonight, tomorrow maybe before event. FYI several people voted me higher than last which skewed my result for example, however this was only people who attended the tourney. Everyone who didn't attend voted me last.

If we agree to split the top three in accordance with making Brum polo stronger, my choices would be 1)Dan_LJ, 2) Matt, 3) Neil 4)Lucas 5)Pete
If we went with the pairings I suggested, I'd most like to play with Neil (pending tournament-playing interest, because he mentioned before that he isn't bothered), then Lucas.

For everyones information i seeded play over the last few months, not the tourney...

To be fair MG, you've only played a few times - don't beat yourself up if you're lower than you hoped. Rob has played regularly for a few months. And he also makes the nicest mallets I've ever seen...

Me too, and I consider overall strength, not just outfield or attack or whatever.

I think positions should be considered....fair point?

Good idea, but I don't think polo lends itself to positions. A good player can do everything well. Of course some people specialise as scorers, defenders, playmakers, super-goalies, but if that's all someone can do, that person is a weak player because there's only three people on the team and it moves too quickly and unpredictably to rely on that core skill.
Jono commented about this somewhere, and all them London types have a lot more experience playing hard games than any of us. As Fin says, our first priority should be improving the standard of our local game.

Does this not make your point about becoming the last 'man' condescending?
Not intentional contradiction chap.
You mentioned 'ball games'and since when did Peter Shilton dazzle a defence?? (take in jest )

I think some people are really into it and consider it their main 'hobby' or whatever.
I want to play tournaments, and I reckon we can do better than we have done in the past if we learned to play as teams.
Nobody is getting worked up or anything; I think it's testament to Birmingham's niceness/mutual respect that we actually talk about this shit, as tedious as it is, rather than just forming teams and telling newcomers to deal with it like every other city does.
