I have a c1986 peugeot 531 pro frame which takes a 26.4 mm seat post. The only confusion I have is that the way the seat post would be fixed. There isn't the conventional clamp type fixing at the top of the tube but rather a screw hole 2 inches down from the top of the tube (screw missing). Can you advise me what sort of seat post I need please?

Does anybody know much about "Don Farrell" frames from about the 60's? Ive looked up abit of history but just wondered if anybody has owned one, some online stuff says poor build quailty but seems they had various frame builders so not sure if mine is good or bad?

New member saying hi. :) I found the forum while doing a bit of research into a potential throwback project and have seen a thing or two in the classifieds that interests me. I have been scouring eBay etc. for some time and always seem to miss out on something, so the plan is to post in the wanted section and see what happens.

**Hello all! **
From a long time biker; who's now decided to let go of gears.
(And incidentally is also bit tired of all the associated maintenance...) -

hi folks. time to bump the nursery thread.
-
• #3943
i'll be posting some pics in a little while of a frame i'd like some help identifying, so if there are any viscount fans out there, get yourselves ready
-
• #3944
i'll also be on the prowl for a frame for myself, so if there's anyone who's 6'4" and is wanting to be rid of a bargain frame so i can build my first singlespeed/fixie, hold on to it for a couple more days...

posting 3 posts like that in a row will get you kicked out of here for trying to avoid the nursery,
You dont want that do you? Do you want to be rejected by the friendliest forum on the internet?

no! i really don't! i will post elsewhere before staring a topic. my apologies, i admit i'm keen to find out what i've found in the shed, but i'll keep my curiosity in check for a little longer.
