  • Guy on a Fort with a rack on the front by ludgate circus about 11 this morning. I was going to say hello but the traffic was horrific (loads of lorries about) and i didn't want to make you miss the snap off the lights. Think i saw you by Hyde park corner about a month ago too?

And a guy on a yellow Bridgestone by Buckingham palace about 6ish tonight. Very nice bike!

  • Tower Bridge south side: Lebowski polololololololoing his way north this evening at around 6. Hello!

  • Who DAS'd me outside the Roebuck at about 22:30? With increasing ferocity? A huge dumpster truck was on my tail, soz.

  • ^Most probably Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!

  • ^Most probably Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!

Close, was Spybot DAS'ing the shit out of everyone. Nice to meet all the peeps at SE's tonight BTW!

  • Bright Yellow/Green Bridgestone with Black 3-spoke front spotted on Shaftesbury Ave this evening around 6-ish too. Lovely bike.

Who were you? I remember a guy with a white frame which might have had a dumpster in tow.

    Aggressive DAS ftw etc.

Who was it who rolled around after a nifty skid with a white deep v on the front? Reps to you sir for the skid and circle back around. Should have stayed for a brew...

  • Nah, black frame, brown drops, black clothes/cap, sidis. Not very conspicuous.

  • Horrendous cyclist pedestrian collision at about 7.45 at the start of Lower Road right next to Surrey Quays station. Roadie cyclist was doing about 20mph ( I was 25m behind) and was passing through green traffic light. A lady just stepped out right in front of him without looking right. There was no way he could have avoided her. Proper full on collision with bike ending up flipping and landing a fair way away. I really thought oh shit, this is a baaaaad one and jumped off my bike expecting to find broken bones at least. Well, based on previous experience of similar crashes anyway.

A lady passer by went to the ped and I went to check out the cyclist. Both were really shaken up and took a good two or three minutes of checking themselves out before knowing that they were uninjured. The cyclists clothing saved him from road rash I think as he slid a long way on the road. I saw the crash really well and know that he did not hit his head.

Lady had a small graze to her elbow and a bruise on her knee...gave her a sterile swab from my first aid kit and talked with her until she stopped crying out of the sheer surprise of what just happened.

What was really nice was that she immediately said that she didn't look and had no idea he was there and that she was sorry...I was half expecting male cyclist to have a go at her but we all stayed calm and there was no finger pointing at all. They also both thanked me which I wasn't expecting as that should be the last thing on your mind when you're shaken up.

She tootled off to the cafe on the corner for a cup of tea to make sure she was ok before going on to work. He spent a few more minutes getting his head straight and checking his bike (it was fine) before continuing on his journey.

I can't tell you how nasty it looked...I was a little shaken up just by seeing it. Turned out well though. Be careful folks...its silly season out there.

  • Dan, i think i saw you, stuck behind a bus on the left on Jamaica Road trying to find a gap to get around the right of it? Must have been about 8ish this morning just after you dealed with the accident?

Yes, indeed we did! I was stuck behind it as a load of other cyclists sped past...I think we exchanged quizical "I think I know him" looks!

Sorry about that, was a little bit preoccupied as you correctly point out I'd only just rolled on from the accident. Nice to see you sir!

Tried to catch up but the first set of lights afterwards were not in my favour.

  • A steady stream of nodders passing me at 7.30am on my very slow journey to Kensington on the polo bike this morning... What a beautiful day... fills lungs deeply

  • Haha! Yeah it was you! I did a sort of double take and then mumbled "alright mate" - kept looking behind for you but all i saw when i turned round was a wave of neon clad hybrid riders heading my direction!

    Morning sir!

  • ^must have just missed you guys. I was rolling down that way about 5 minutes after you.

  • Dan, I recon they were both really lucky to have you there (and your first aid kit!). Good work! Hope you're not feeling too shaken up still. Things like that can linger in the brain for a while, quite annoyingly...

Spotted Digger amd Kattiep within seconds of each other, morning to you both!

Who was the silver fox on the beautiful Eddy Merckx with red suede shoes? Possible shoe-to-bike-practicality fail, but you had the look down :)

Also happy to have shared the commute the loveliest and chattiest roadie ever, Neil(?), whom I hadn't seen in months.

And morning to all the randomers along my route who said, 'morning, great day for a ride!' with massive smiles. I love how summer brings out the best in people!

  • Tall bloke on a lovely big rad Eddy Merckx approaching Chelsea Bridge from the South. Didn't DAS you because that's a tight spot you were threading yourself through.

On North Pole Road, somebody on a red-and-white striped frame (looked like it was made from candy canes) with a deep red rim on the front. After we both turned onto Latimer Road, I DASsed you, assuming you'd be on here or at least know the term. Since you just glared at me, I may have been wrong.

  • I've spotted loads of lovely folk of late......
Ziska last night prepping for job interview with beer and fags (styld).
V on my way home from there after her busy lmnh shift,
and nealii this morning who got a very civil wave in that place that I never know whether its called kennington or oval.

Flattery will get you everywhere my dear but thank you anyway. I doubt a swab on a graze did much other than maybe make her feel a little less shaken and saved her clothes from some oozing. Was grateful for the other ped who was happy to check out the lady when I asked.

  • about 7-8 fixie skidders outside the entrance to the Foreign Office on Horse Guards road at around 22:30 last night.

  • Probably being deported back to the Skidders Republic of Fixrovia...

  • Came in through Brixton this morning and spotted no one.

Hit one million miles an hour down kennington park road, so maybe that's why.

  • Clara was that you?

Raleigh winner, matt black lid and red striped rear tyre, heading towards Greenwich - nearly said hello, but if that's the frame you got from me, it looked smaller!?

    Simon

  • Some cunt in a rep mobile near St James' park. Beeping his horn and spitting at the inside of his window.

  • He'd have given you some rep if he could...
