Really happy to hear you are recovering Kirby! I can't begin to imagine what you must have ben through, I admire your courage.

I was a safe and aware cyclist. The lorry came at me from behind, I banged on the door, shouted for it to stop but I could do little to escape it.

This gave me The Fear.

Glad to hear you pulled through and all the best with your recovery. It's good to see you're keeping yourself busy and your creations are pretty cool.

Hopefully there is some kind of investigation going on into the circumstances and if the driver is found at fault (as it appears from your description) that justice is served.

It's rather late in the day, but there is a thread here about what to do in case of an accident. Even though it was a few months ago, there may be information there which is of use to you.

Also, there are many, many forumengers from all walks of life who I'm sure will be willing to offer their support.
