They take 3 replaceable low cost AG10 button batteries which can be bought cheaply online, on the highstreet etc. Can't say how long they last, as it depends on how much you use them, probably months with occasional use, a few weeks if you use them heavily every day. I'm using a set and they are still going strong after about a month of use - the good thing is they turn off whenever you stop at the lights (If you do stop at least!). They make your wheels look awesome though, especially good on roundabouts where you have cars approaching from the side!
