Are aerospokes accepted on track going bikes now all of a sudden?
Poor (relatively speaking) man's Mavic iO?

I don't know. First they were the shit, then they were just plain shit and now they are ok on a track bike. Hard to keep up with the fixie trendsetters.

Shimano DX are far from manky, they are very fine pedals.
For BMX, 4x, DS and DH.
Oh..
They're perfectly functional but they're not pretty. Even diamondback flat pedals look nicer.
I suppose the spok would be fine for a TT/persuit. A nice gyroscopic weight to keep you going.

Not exactly much wrong with that Wilier. Manky pedals and stupidly chopped bars but the rest is pretty good.
Exactly my objections. First impression was, mmm what a nice fixie, I could ride that. But then I noticed the stupid bars. Pedals only made it worse.

I rate those tension discs though. What is there purpose, better aero? stronger, due to the continuous kevlar thread?

and i am aware of these butterfly bars. i just mean the padding for bartape
This sort of padding is actually very comfortable plus it's dirt cheap. Someone just made a 'trekking' bike out of a nice road bike. Just lacks mudguards (fenders? I forget which one was the British option) and panniers on a rack. I guess.

Not antiporn but don't know where else to put it. I hope to the sweet lord it's a joke.
By the nickname, seller's Polish and probably looked the word up in a dictionary. "Handlebar(s)" and "steering wheel" are called the same in Polish: "kierownica". Another question might be, how has the guy managed, with his incredible language skills, to make enough money in Ireland to afford this combo.

That bike isn't being used on a track.
why not? Decent looking gear ratio, tubular rear tyre so not going to be skidding on it and could have slotted cleats.

Just a hunch.

The owner has taken the 'constant downhill' theme too far with the extreme nose-down saddle and tri-bars pointing at the ground. Campag bottle is wrong on a DuraAce equipped bike, and should be on the downtube anyway. Silly sticker on the chainstay. Could have been so nice with proper set up, as it is it looks like it's being used by somebody who can't ride a bike properly, i.e. a triathlete.
don't forget that you're talking about a bke which was build before the wall was down or just a few days after that, there wasn't the same chance as others had for riders from the (former) gdr.

I'm sure it looked fine when it was in use by the DDR national team, what has happened to it since then is the reason why it ended up in this thread.

That's mine. Love it! :)

Is it really yours? I hate the paint on the frame & forks, if they were plain red I'd ride it. Even with the white chain & tyres (which haters will hate but that's what they do rite?)

Aerospokes should not be accepted on any bike.
