I just had a look at google shopping and it came up with one result for a Desire HD at £250. It went to this link which is quite clearly not an HD but instead a Desire (like mine), but locked to Orange and with less memory.
I've just had a look on the completed listings for Desire HDs on ebay and the vast majority are at £280-350+. You might get lucky with the occasional one at £250-£280 but I wouldn't say it's the going rate.
Another quick check of Desires on the completed listings does show that the're regularly selling around between £215-220 (low end) and £240-£250 (top end). Considering the extra memory I'm offering and the fact that I'll bring it to you in london (£25 train ticket) or post it free of charge (can't imagine that's more than £5), I was always aiming towards the top end.
Nevertheless, I shall drop the price down to £230
