John H has a set of forks of mine, could someone bring them back up please?

  • Loving the weather.. but not too thrilled to be indoors.....

If it holds anyone fancy a Polo Picnic on Friday...? that's if we all have the day off work...? Chorlton park for sun, bbq/picnic and polo...? not the best court but it's nice and sociable....

  • I'd be up for that if people don't mind watching the little'n while I'm playing

  • Im definitely up for it

  • oh.. and obviously not a strictly polo thing.. the more the merrier.. polo heads and non-polo heads welcome...

  • Great idea - although expect CP to be pretty busy - you thinking afternoon or evening?

  • was thinking like our normal sundays... 1pm onwards maybe...? depends how many people get the day off on Friday...? lets see what the feedback is....

  • London Euro Qualies - mini Polo Erectus Review...

A quite different tournament to the usual open-style with 13 round robin matches to be played in one day. As a new team it was so much more rewarding and beneficial to have to play everyone - yes Woody, we played everyone! Although I guess for better teams (or just teams that think they're better), some of the matches (against us) may well have been tedious formalities...

Erectus had four very poor games - particularly against Pomketamine in the first, Clotted Cream, ASBO and Fen Boy 3, although to be realistic, we'd never beat the bamboozling FB3 ever! We had great matches with Degeneration, L'Quiche BH and even Spring Break, with die hard backs-to-the-wall stuff against Dead Rappers, Netto, Cosmic and Nice Touch, trying to make the full 10 minutes without capitulation!

Thoroughly exhausted by the end of the day and wrecked the day after - but full of inspiration and confidence for Brighton now.

Good luck to those heading for Barecelona - sorry that Cream couldn't make it at the death....

  • Hey guys,

I've been thinking of coming up for a day of polo sometime soon (probably a Sunday). What time do you usually play and do you use that powerhaus place? I may bring a few more people up, especially if you'd be up for doing team games like we did in Brum last year.

Good idea? Any date to aim for/avoid?

    Dan (Birmingham)

hey Dan, were doing a mini 2x2 tourney on Sat the 30the of April if you can make that?

alternately most Sundays will be fine, just give us some notice when your planning it

  • We just did a mini 2v2 tournament - had my fill of that for a while.

I'll try to sort a date with people here and get back to you. Would you be up for making a day of it?

  • If there were a few of you coming up we could scrap 2x2 n juat play games?

  • I'll guage enthusiasm and get back to you - really want to play some team games as there aren't really enough strong lineups in Brum to make it fun.

  • tuesday 6pm powahouse

    1. nesbit
  • Is anyone going to Kings Arms for the movie this evening? I would

  • Sorry can't make tonight.. started a course to try and help sort my back out, unfortunately its tuesday evenings...

  • can't make it tonight either, i'm without my polo bike for a few sessions

  • will you have it back for the weekend..?

  • don't think so

  • It would be good if we could all get together before the brighton tourney and talk things through. How about bank holiday monday in the evening?

It's great news about whitworth and that Ste is doing the website, but our biggest problem right now is that we need more players. We have our own court with keys and lights so we need to make the most of it right now, i reckon we re-visit neils orginal 1 year plan, unless anyone has any other ideas? And if Neil is still up for it that is?

It was dissapointing to see Asbo and Erectus not do well in London, we can be better than this. Lets all work together to keep our sport alive in MCR, and get back where we belong. MCR has a great polo history, this is our biggest selling tool.

Who is in favour of letting Neil try his 1 year plan? He does this kinda stuf for a living, there's no one better IMO. If we have to vote we can, but i'm sure everyone wants this situation to improve...

If we don't act soon then mcr polo might be gone this time next year.

  • lets get number 2 on the go then, player recruitment,

ways we have tried in the past

    1. begineers session
    2. freshers fair.
    3. flyers at critt mass/bike shops

how did everyone here get started, i started from a beginners session, the texting was good, does anyone have unlimited texts, so we can get that going again?
