Have you ever ridden on a road with that style of speed bump?
The cars weave left and right at high speed to slot through the gaps.
The style of speed bump that crosses the entire width of the road only cause cars to brake heavily, then accelerate hard, rather than weaving at the same time.
Of course I have, but point taken ;-) To be fair though, I only see the accelerating/braking thing occasionally and if I do, I'm mostly finding it ridiculously amusing as it it so utterly pointless.
I guess I was hoping that a city full of speed bumps would put off people driving who would then switch to cycling or walking or whatever, but that's probably slightly unrealistic...unfortunately!
