^ yeah they are used well in places as a last resort but they're a nightmare on bike or motorbike.
This is going to sound a little bit Daily Mail but how about...
On-the-spot driving bans for drivers that can't correctly answer basic highway code questions such as: Whatever do those funny yellow crisscross lines on the junction mean? Who has right of way when there is an obstacle to traffic? etc.
