I wish you'd tell me how much you paid... and if I bought that NOS, I'd defo ask for my money back.

Wow, just wow. This thread is incredible, but not as incredible as that frame! I wish I could get £300 for something I found in a skip.

Sensational by the way!

why are you still answering and discussing tomder?
you are always saying you can get more for this frame elsewhere. So go ahead...
I think it was really entertaining reading the thread. Got that feeling that tomder feels disappointed that no one wanted to buy his frame and is still arguing that it would be an easy fix at some shop.
So he's still trying to convince the board that 300pounds are a fair price. Don't you realized that rusted old metal is not worth 300?
And if you finally put it on ebay, pleaaaaaassse post the link here. I think everyone here wants to see how much you get for this masterpiece of framebuliding history.
Anyone daring a bet?

i think in this case NOS means NOW OLD SHITE
these make sense.
I trusted the guy I bought it from + had a look at the seat cluster on some pics - will do my homework and will find more details, but am also sure that someone here will know if it is cinelli.
mate, whole that NOS thing, if you read my original post, is silly, I said that I bought it as NOS looking at poor quality pics but obviously it isnt - check my post again.
who will fix it? workshop who will also re-spray - got quoted £150 total - they said it is an easy fix.
for starters, if somebody sells that as nos i wouldn't quite believe anyhting else he claims.
so far the only thing that remotely might make it a cinelli is the seatcluster. but in all honesty that is like saying that the lugs have cutouts in the shape of a heart so it must be a de rosa (i have seen that on here no joke).ergo, you are in dire need to prove that is is what you claim it is, otherwise everybody else is pretty much within reason to make fun of you.

freedom of choice, if you like it you can have it, if you dont, you dont.
I am not arguing with your choice, I dont mind you not liking it. I only wonder if all of it is worth so much energy since it doesnt seem worth money :)

The bullshit is asking £300 for an 'NOS' frame that may possibly perhaps be a Cinelli (for no specified reason or tangible proof) and requires some quite major work (that we only have your word is actually possible and can be done-I personally think it's a bit optimistic, and given the state and unproven provenance of the frame, a waste of time and money) and then a re-spray to boot, that will cost a lot of money on top of... And given the fine examples of track steel to be had on here at very reasonable prices from trusted sellers selling at fair prices, it starts to look like a bit like asking a paraplegic to give you a left footed wank-off because its a Tuesday and its raining in Rotterdam.
that's the bullshit. So whereas if you'd asked 50 quid people might have thought 'hairy muff', the above makes them think 'what a fucking nobber for even asking'.
But you don't get this, so maybe best stick to flea bay where some sad cunt might just buy it.

that actually is cool nuknow :) and relevant

So, In the face of massive negative reaction from hundreds of posters do you still in no way accept that your valuation of the frame might be wrong???

nay, I will get it fixed and re-sprayed, will find nice fork for it and once with the serial number date it, will sell it for nice money.
there is no rush, I will keep you posted.

So for this 'nice money' (£450 min?) will you tell the eventual buyer that the whole top of the seat-tube where the stays join had split, forcing it to be either bodged back together making it weaker, or replacing the whole cluster (requiring stays and top tube detached, seat tube removed and replaced, then all re-assembled? And will you give them conclusive proof that it's a Cinelli or tell them the fork isn't orginal, nor is the paint?
Starts to look like a pig dressed up as a racehorse really.

• #173
I think you have a classic frame here and I'd be happy to freshen this bad boy up with a can of yellow Krylon for £400 and I'll throw in a clearcoat on the house. I'll spray it so thick, that seat-cluster will look like a ball of clay.
-
• #174
Fair enough, but surely on a business level that's a risky maneuver. £150 to get it repaired plus the £300 your asking, even on ebay you'd get some incredible (original and verified) frames for that.
this was the first listing when i typed de rosaIt's on £301 with twenty min to go. Lets see where it ends!

if that is how you do it ...
I personally go to professionals who know how to do these things and dont do it myself.
these make sense.
