Hi there, signposts from twitter sent me this way, I'm female & I ride bicycles in a variety of flavours(not fixed or SS mind). If that's any use feel free to get in contact - I can't actually PM you as I'm apparently in the nursery and I'm not allowed for 24hrs or something.

I too am in 'the nursery', but am responding to the Twitter post 'calling all female cyclists'. Happy to give an opinion, or interview since I LOVE cycling in London!
I go EVERYWHERE on my bike, commuting Stoke Newington to Canary Wharf every day is a glorious ride straight down the canal. Me and my East London mates also have our own group 'Byclaarts' where we go on random bike rides in and around London every few weeks or so.
I ride my boyfriend's old Kona, the first bike he ever had and it's still in good nick, despite being 17 years old. Gets some compliments (the bike, not me) from male cyclists, though I can't see the appeal. It's just a bike that works and looks as though it won't get nicked.
There is a HUGE divide between South London and North/East London male cyclists. South Londoners seem to take the morning commute far too seriously, dressed up in the full-on gear that wouldn't look out of place in Tour De France. North/East London male cyclists seem more laid back, leisurely and cool, like it's part of their lifestyle.
I could talk about cycling all day long, so feel free to contact me.

There's a huge cohort of female cyclists in London - everything from Pashley pushers to Pinarello pimps, lace to lycra! I assume you're contacting groups like CTC and Sustrans (especially if you want a nation wide overview).
I'm happy to give you my humble opinions on it all... although I'm coming from the 'nitty gritty' end of cycling - teaching mechanics, on-road cycle training, sports coaching :) -

hey fix this, don't live in London anymore but would like to be involved?
I'm writing an article for an independent magazine about female cyclists and would like to get some input and maybe an interview from some women on the forum.
Stuff like - what do you ride? why do you ride? do you feel that male cyclists don't take you seriously? what competitions/social events related to cycling do you take part in?...
If you're interested then send me a message on here.
Also if anyone knows of any female cycling groups etc. let me know
Cheers
