  • I too am in 'the nursery', but am responding to the Twitter post 'calling all female cyclists'. Happy to give an opinion, or interview since I LOVE cycling in London!

I go EVERYWHERE on my bike, commuting Stoke Newington to Canary Wharf every day is a glorious ride straight down the canal. Me and my East London mates also have our own group 'Byclaarts' where we go on random bike rides in and around London every few weeks or so.

I ride my boyfriend's old Kona, the first bike he ever had and it's still in good nick, despite being 17 years old. Gets some compliments (the bike, not me) from male cyclists, though I can't see the appeal. It's just a bike that works and looks as though it won't get nicked.

There is a HUGE divide between South London and North/East London male cyclists. South Londoners seem to take the morning commute far too seriously, dressed up in the full-on gear that wouldn't look out of place in Tour De France. North/East London male cyclists seem more laid back, leisurely and cool, like it's part of their lifestyle.

I could talk about cycling all day long, so feel free to contact me.
