Was a really good ride. Had to spend an extended break at the feed station to fix my mate's new high tech rear wheel.
It was an Ultegra wheel and hub, and every single spoke on the non-drive side had unwound, to the point where there was no tension at all. Lord knows how it hadn't folded on him. Because they use a hexagonal spoke nipple (why?) I had to borrow an 8" adjustable spanner from the pub opposite and use that as the world's biggest spoke key. Got him round, though!
At least we didn't get chased by a couple of loose horses, unlike another bunch of riders.
