I won't be doing the ride this time around, but if you happen to know what sort of time you might be arriving I could meet you all with a crate of beer by Bournemouth Pier for a drink on the beach.

New bike wasn't ready :( they were having trouble getting the cranks to mate with the bb, or some other clearly highly technical bollocks that meant when they said friday afternoon they really meant some-time-after-friday, despite having all the pieces besides the brakes lying around for the better part of two weeks.

I shall be sending a missive/activating the beacon/shooting the flares as we approach - your number still end in 577?

It does, however the flares may be prove to be a better option as I've lost my phone!
I seem to remember us getting to Bournemouth at around 4pm last time. Maybe if someone with a fancy phone could post on this thread when you guys hit the New Forest or something, it'll give me time to stock up and get down to the beach. -

Best to get it out the way early on so the rest of the ride goes flat-free!
Shame I couldn't make this one... next time! -

73 miles done, seem to have lost the bunch. Sitting in the sun while nick investigates. Considering hitting the purbecks on arrival if my legs still work/there's time.

Course I fucking did!
Popped in to the regent at 4:30 for a quick drink after work yesterday. Still at mango landin shaking my stuff at 1am!
4.5 hours sleep, bit of a hangover... Amazing ride to Bournemouth. What a fucking day for it!
Enjoyed trying to keep up with Friday and 6pt. Doable on the flat, dropped like a hot potato on the hills.

what a day for a ride. and what a ride.
awesome route sam, big thanks for putting this ride together and leading with good humour and panache. leading is a funny word as i can picture 6pt and Friday pulling off the front all day.
but that was an excellent day in the saddle. will do that route again for sure.
cheers to lucas for leading us to a bike friendly pub in bournemouth (the goat and tricycle) for a well deserved pint.
knackered now. will sleep like a baby pony
well you did ditchling on a 90 inch gear or something, should be a breeze.
