suddenly feel the need for a bike with risers - might be time to rebuild my iro
-
• #43203
If you ever decide to upgrade something on that bike johnny, consider the cranks. Im familiar with those, and if im not mistaken they are super heavy and made off steel.

Ed,
That looks like a beast of a bike, really looking forward to hearing how it goes on your epic trek:-)Across Wimbledon Common?
-
• #43205
Yes, Wimbledon common, south America.

cranks are my next buy I definitely, getting some new pedals very soon too. My dads mate let me ride his cervelo carbon fibre and cannondale slice time trial carbon fibre bikes, worth about 10000 pounds between them, and since my Raleigh feels like it's made of lead! so weight is going to be on the agenda for the next few buys...

Hate to say it but if weight really is an issue I'd replace the frame first.
-
• #43208
I wouldn't say an issue, im used to riding a big heavy downhill bike anyway, so this feels ok! just something to consider really!

• #43209
This is Roy. Hope to have him built by may. Cannot wait.

month till loan day hang on
-
• #43215
the last loan is pretty much fuck all though. I've just got a lot of money coming out this month. Going to have to borrow off my housemate to pay this months rent, got to pay for Berlin stuff, gas/electric bill and macbook bill. Comes to about £540 just on bills. Then £1000 for the BMC.
I get about £1200 all together with loan and bursary, which isn't enough. -

Which BMC road bike you're getting sumo?
-
• #43220
Pifko's 09 model sl01 roadracer. Hopefully.
-
• #43221
SL01 roadracer is a great choice.
I just need to get rid of my irrational dislike of BMC, they look great, they're swiss, they're stupidly comfortable, etc. so why do I dislike them??
edit - do not said fucking rack.

• #43222
hahahaha damit. You edited before I could press reply.
-
• #43223
lovin the mosser matt
-
• #43224
I'm part swiss anyway so I can get away with the weirdness of the frame. There's been a slc01 in lmnh the last couple of days and it's been making me jealous.

do they have provision for 15 spacers?
Look like you done a good job, take out one more link off the chain though so it'll be nicely tensioned, especially when it's a brand new one.
