I find it utterly mystifying how people seem so happy to chase material things such as expensive handbags, brand new car, latest phone etc etc, whilst not actually chasing things that could genuinely improve their standard of life (a reasonably spacious house in a nice area, a job that pays the same but offers fewer hours leaving you more time with your family.)

Because you can't buy that kind of stuff off a dodgy geezer in Brick Lane.
