  • The one night I self-impose a LFGSS ban and I miss a baby! pm ME the deets!! please.

  • Are you really sure it was too small?

If so my old frame probably wouldve been perfect to you but I did a bad swap with irisque who gave me a frame not only the wrong size (from what he claimed), but with ruined fork threads, and a cracked and crushed seattube.

I'm sure I asked you about that frame, the blue/grey and white one? That's bad news man. Did you resolve it?

  • Aende's are realy well built nice frames and worth collecting

  • WANTED:

A GEARED BIKE!! Seriously, I need a bike for Berlin. No way do I have 500 smackers spare to get a new one so I'm thinking of getting a trusty 80s/90s road frame and just updating it with reliable bits and a decent wheelset. Moving house atm so don't have any spare cash until next month but ASAP would be good to get some 'loaded up with panniers' rides on the go... ANYONE GOT ANYTHING?

are you riding to Berlin from Birmingham? or just riding round Berlin?

if it's just Berlin fixed is perfect, specially at night. But there have also been a couple of people on here who've ridden the whole trip fixed.

    ps the Aende is gorgeous.

  • I'm trying to put together some cash to get that Aende, but i'm struggling.
I want a new fixed gear frame.....

  • there are only a few framebuilders that are on my have-to-have-at-some-point list but Aende's long been one of 'em. They're special frames, you can't go wrong with Pongo Braithwaite..do it pistaboy!*

*or mothergirl. not being a very good influence on either of you.

  • Birmingham to Berlin. I'd love to do it fixed but I'm SOOOOOOOOO not fit enough!

    FIGHT!

  • Dan you can have it when I get back from Berlin/bike share?

  • Birmingham to Berlin. I'd love to do it fixed but I'm SOOOOOOOOO not fit enough!

Either fixed or geared you've got plenty of time to get in shape... and as I learned - THE HUMAN IS CAPABLE OF MANY THINGS -

I'v been on a few trips with little to no prep and still the biggest of cols were climbed, sure some slower than others but I still, after a battle between me and it, managed to rest my foot atop that conquered beast.

I say stop worrying about it and do like Nike :)

  • Cheers Gav, if I wanted a coach you'd be ideal!

On another note, I bought a Dia Compe caliper brake a few weeks ago, has had minimal use and today the fucking spacer screw thingy just snapped clean off, luckily I noticed as I was leaving the house and found it in bits on the floor. Weird? I'm about to buy another from Velo Solo so don't want the same thing to happen, just on principle...I've got others lying around I'm sure.

  • I notice there is a move toward gears round here.... Dont do it... They suck.

  • Birmingham is fairly hilly though...

  • @Gav - You should do a motivational audiobook.
