  • not sure about it matching, or the shape/carbonness?

A bit of both actually, I do like a straight fork me, and its such a rich colour maybe different colour fork would work well. anyhoo, thats just me, I look forward to seeing it built up.

  • So what will it transformed into? a lawnmower?

obviously it would transform into a robot? didnt you watch transformers?

  • I reckon it would transform into a small, monkey like robot.

  • Nice one Fred.. What says the long pantho on the stem?

did you go for extra light version or plain ones? got a detailed shot? come on!

  • I reckon it would transform into a small, monkey like robot.

    What? Damo?

  • dan you got me, I've been coming to terms with the fact that the stem is a tad too long - Im a lanky chap, but admittedly not quite of the primate shape necessary to ride for too long, though Im getting used to it...

its quite gutting as its a more-than-stunning cinelli milano/14 setup... looks like Il be in the market for a frame with a shorter top tube.

  • Finally found a 46 gangsta frame. Original orange fork wasn't in great condition so I used a black fork which I had. I'm going to fix the fork and try the original orange setup.

How many brooklyn gangstas have you owned / do you own?

  • Yoo hoo...

Thanks, yes I sold the black 40, it was too small for me. V2 is now more beater with cromo cranks 42-19 gearing etc., used for polo.

  • I have a CB frame similar to yours, did you repaint it? if so, where did you get the decals from?

It was already redone when I got it, as mentioned HLloyd does a good job with decals

  • I found exactly the opposite!! He was extremely helpful when i was trying to restore my '59 Holdsworth:

He even offered to re-draw one of the missing decals! Everything was ace quality as well.

Beautiful colour on your Monsoon Soul.
    Here's mine

  • after an admitted fault by armourtex on my clear powder coat, they've more than made up for it. thanks guys

    BEFORE

    AFTER

I'll take some proper pictures soon, weather permitting

  • you covered up the rust with rust brown? Smart I guess. What saddle is that?

  • it's purple red, not at all a good picture. it's an old brooks swift ti

  • Looks like a nice build.

  • You mean oxide red?

  • thanks man, I'm looking forward to a nice dura ace chainring soon

  • You mean oxide red?

armourtex seem to call it purple red. it's got a very nice gloss finish, it shines like pixie shit

  • That Brooklyn is lush, Lars Erik.

    Norsk?

  • Thanks, finnish from Helsinki.

  • Finally rebuilt the Soviet Rekord as my around-town bike with new forks after the originals snapped.

  • Just ordered the rest of the stuff for my road bike, this is how its shaping up. I wanted something that would be lighter than my raleigh royal.

Might have to order some cheapo carbon forks from ebay, I don't know If I can stand having road warrior written on my bike, it'll give the wrong impression.

  • I don't know If I can stand having road warrior written on my bike

Sorted for £2.69 + some elbow grease

  • Just revamped my Moser for 2011. Last seen on these pages looking like this:

    Now:

Still not for purists; fancied a bit of old and new and, ahem, Italian and Japanese.

Moser Leader AX frame and forks ca. 1990.
Chorus 10 spd brakes and derailleur.
    Record 10 spd crankset.
    Record 9 spd front mech.
    Record SGR pedals.
    Super Record pantoed seatpost.
    Khamsin wheels.
3TTT stem and matching 3TTT pantoed bars.
    Selle Italia SLR xp saddle.
    Dura Ace headset
Dia Compe shifters and brake levers.

Macro lens was fairly savage and shows up the chips unfortunately. Paint's a bit like soft cheese. Pedals were bought to match the period of the frame but seen as nothing else does, will be swapped. Anyone that would like to buy them or swap for something a bit more modern, let me know. Lovely pedals - still have box and cleats in vgc. Anything suitable considered.

Anyway, most important thing is, happily rode 90km on it first time out and was the business.
