DIBS - Cranks, what's the deal with the

I had them on a BB that had adjustable cups and without my noticing, the cups worked their way through to the drive side which caused the BB shell to scrape the inside of the left crank... you can see the result in the picture. It is still fine (it doesn't affect their strength or taper), and you can't really tell from the side when they are mounted, but i had to mention why it looks a bit funky.

BTW the worst of the damage is shown in the pictures provided in the original post. Most of the silver spots are from me smoothing out the ridge.
