I'm getting rid of my touring wheelset since I went over to hub gears. Had them built at Brick Lane in 2008, Dura Ace (8, 9, 10 speed) road hubs laced with 36 Sapim spokes each to Mavic CXP33's. (I think they're 33's, I can never remember which is which and I pulled the stickers off.) The front is 'crow's foot' laced which is super-cool.
The fronts done about twice as many miles as the rear and has been serviced and looked after but could probably do with another service soon. You can also just about feel wear on the front's brake surface now. Both run nice and smooth.
They're not as light as your latest factory built models, but they are super strong. I have trued them once since they were built and they were barely out.
I'll be in London next weekend to hand them over.
