  • Times are tough and I don't really ride this enough, since I am somehow managing with just one bike now. So my track bike is for sale, it has a few things wrong with it which I have specified, nothing else is in bad shape, no dents, all true etc.
    Hence the price is £250.

1973 Raleigh Professional Track, Witcomb fork, Reynolds 531C, 56cm square, drilled fork, Shimano 105 headset (pitted), Nitto stem (stuck), chromed North Road bars and MTB lever. Campagnolo Record dual pivot front brake (barrel adjuster threaded), Thompson seatpin 27.2 (stuck), Turbo Super, Drive side crank Campagnolo C-Record Pista (170 length), non drive side pre '67 fluted Campagnolo Pista crank (also 170 length), Campagnolo Veloce BB, Shimano 105/600 (can't remember which) aero pedals and cages, Wheels low flange Shimano Dura-Ace track hubs, 36 holes, laced to Mavic Open Pros and Vittoria Rubino Pros, rear hub replaced 500 miles ago, front may need some new grease soon. I will also clean it up before anyone wants to have a look at it!
I am gonna stick up some Campagnolo Record large flange track hubs later and a 1950s tandem, each for 100 if anyone wants to express some interest.

  • Is the tandem complete?

  • Jeeeeze... This is an almost amazing bike, with a bit of work...

  • Fuck it, I already have one bit if no one takes it over the weekend I'm interested... Will check thread on Monday.

  • i would like to express serious interest in the track hubs if they are 36h and sound.

  • Dibs/serious interest in the tandem depending on spec/condition

  • I too would probably be interested in the track hubs - Do you still have the original fork for the Raleigh?

  • The tandem is complete, the track hubs are sound and I don't have the original Raleigh forks. I live in Hackney, and I'm working till nine tomorrow, but free on Monday if anyone wants to come and have a look.

  • dibs, pm'd !

  • Dibs track bike (or second dibs if that's what scubbasteve has dibbed..) PM'd, thanks

  • Apologies, undibs.. Cash situation not what it's meant to be :( sorry to waste your time, Tom

  • I'd take the f&f if you ever decide to split

  • It pains me to say it, but I'm out for this so have a bump... (had pm'd)
Someone please buy it and restore it, there is a great frame and set of wheels here just waiting to be fixed up...

  • did scubbsteve not take it?

how stuck are the stuck post and stem? like no hope, or with some persuasion it'l come out?

  • plusgas will get that sucker out in about a week. just fill up, give it a nudge, fill up nudge etc

  • This is a weeks work away from an epic bike... Even if you have to cut out the stem and seatpost..

  • This deserves a bump... and if someone actually buys it it will stop me from doing so come payday.

  • is this pick up only if so where abouts are you? nearest train station?

  • Could be a very nice bike Gav. Have you got any more pics?

  • im with the more pics thing.

whats the paint looking like on the frame? and could we see non drive side?

    ta

  • Fucksake! Fuck the paint! It's a great Deane and a great set of wheels for cheap... Spend another 100 on it and it could be amazing.

  • Sorry... I just love these frames...

  • Chris..Just buy the fookin bike!...

  • i want porn...

i already have a 'nice bike' but i canne be arsed with a paint job thats all.

id buy it if it was frame alone... or better still frame and original fork

  • The paint is a black powder coat in reasonable nick, no rust to speak of (ie the odd fleck around but can be wire wooled off in seconds), the bike has never been crashed, no dents in the frame. I bought the frame and fork as they are now, so no idea what happened to the original fork. I will try to put some more photos up Wed/Thurs. Oh and I am gonna keep the pedals now as my girlfriend needs them, but I'll stick a cheap pair on so it can be riden away/test ride.

I am selling the bike for a reasonable price because I bought it for a resonable price off this forum, from a very community minded person (Pip) who helped me out when I had little money and had written off my frame in a crash.

I am 2 min walk from Hackney Downs and Hackney Central, next to the Five ways. I am on night shifts till Thurs morning so viewing anytime after then is fine.
