Wanted: Campagnolo front mech

Posted on
  • The above derailleur on my T.J.Quick cracked near the hinge on the clamp. i can't believe that the clamp isn't separate as it now means that i need a new front mech. i'm not sure if the set it Chorus, Athena or Croce D'Aune. the bike dates to about '93 i think.

    there's more shots here.

so i need a new front mech of similar/the same quality.
anyone have anything just, you know, lying around? :P

    thanks,

    matt

  • Hey Matt,

Is your broken mech band-on? If not, I've got a 90's Veloce front mech which you are welcome to have - its bolt-on though...I'm at the Fixed thing in London Bridge tonight if you want to take it.

  • Sorry, just re-read your post. Clearly it is band-on. Sorry.

  • Looks like Chorus judging by cranks, brakes, etc. though the later Athena became the earlier Chorus parts in some instances. You could grab a Campag clamp and buy a braze-on version if need be. Or get a new Veloce for £10ish (they work as well as front mechs do).

  • i was looking at the separate clamp and braze-on set-up. open to that for sure. chorus eh? cool, i'll look around but if anyone has something just give me a shout.
    thanks,
    matt.

  • I have a c-record one. Pm me if interested. In very good condition as well. cheers c_c

forget. Chorus groupset from what I can see from your photos...

  • Also forgot 28.6mm band required? Should say on the inside of the band.
